An increased number of households that are adopting the use of Mponda Giya (tippy tap) hand washing tool in Zomba and Machinga districts YONECO is promoting the facility under ‘Making Communities Resilient to Climate-Induced Health Challenges project’.
Mponda Giya is a simple yet essential tool that help in the prevention of diseases associated with poor sanitation and promotes hygiene in the wake of climate-related health risks.
The project, which is being implemented with the financial support of Foundation S, is aimed at strengthening the climate resilience of community members by enabling them to better prepare for, cope with, and manage the health risks posed by climate variability and change.
In this project, YONECO working with various community structurers and health promoters who have intensified awareness and education sessions in their designated areas.
